b-days, jobs, and the mail.

It was my birthday on Wednesday. I never do much in the realm of celebration. This year I bummed around the house until I had to go to work at three. I wasn't feeling very well for most of the day. Work was ok, but not thrilling. I'm working at a Kiosk in Walmart for the most part and Andy came to visit me since he needed to get a few things anyway. When I came home, Andy had a birthday cake waiting for me (which I had to frost because he was scared). He even bought candles for it and put them on in the shape of a heart. It was the first time I had candles on a birthday cake in several years. Then he made me a nice supper of lemon chicken with potatoes and broccoli for supper. All in all, it was a pretty typical day, but nice.

On the seventh I went with Andy to the cities because he had to go to the doctor for his TMJ issues. It was a terrible trip because the roads were so terrible. We saw several people who had driven off the road and two vehicles that had actually flipped. When we got home, I got a call from a place called buyfun. I had two interviews with them and they called to see if I wanted to work for them. I accepted. My title is "product development specialist". It sounds fancy but it's that impressive. I'll basically be helping get new costumes ready for Halloween. The hours are 8-4:30 mon-fri which is really nice. The pay and benefits are not great, but at least it's a full time job and I think it will be fun. And on the plus side, I get 40% off costumes three times a year. I'm training this week and will go full time the week after. I'm going to keep the JH tax job and just work weekends to make a little more money while it's there.

The other day I got a birthday card in the mail from my Grandma. It was nice to get and arrived just in time for my b-day, but someone had sliced both ends of it open. It looked like someone was trying to see if there was any cash inside. She sent a check which was fortunately still in there, but I think if there had been cash, it would have been long gone. Then the same day I got a letter from the post office. It contained a slip that said a package I had sent was lost. There was also a ripped part of the packaging I had sent a book in. It was just enough to contain the send to address and return address. So somehow they ripped the hell out of the packaging and lost the book. I had to send them a description of what was lost for them to look for and had to refund $5o for the book that was lost which I had sold on ebay for Andy and which he won't get reimbursed for. I'm really not pleased with the post office right now.

  1. Good luck with the new job.
I guess I don't have to tell you I never got around to sending you a b-day card. I can just say it got lost in the mail...
    Love you anyway!
