Work

I've been at my new new job for almost two weeks now. It's interesting to say the least. A lot of it can be sort of tedious, but some of it is sill fun. Since I've been there, I've been asked to try on three different costumes to help work out sizing. The first costume was called the queen of hearts. Then they asked me to try on the pirate wench costume. Today I was asked to try on the sexy cat costume. I put all the costumes on over my regular clothes, so no one got to see me showing off my legs (and ass) in that short skirt.

There are a couple people that I work with who are pretty neat. One of them like motorcycles so we talk about that, and another lady wants to come to quilt club with me!

I kind of turned in to a space case. Last Thursday was quilt club night and I totally forgot to go. I didn't even realize that I had missed it until three days later. I was pretty bummed. I put Q's on my calendar so I would make sure to remember to go to all future meetings.

b-days, jobs, and the mail.

It was my birthday on Wednesday. I never do much in the realm of celebration. This year I bummed around the house until I had to go to work at three. I wasn't feeling very well for most of the day. Work was ok, but not thrilling. I'm working at a Kiosk in Walmart for the most part and Andy came to visit me since he needed to get a few things anyway. When I came home, Andy had a birthday cake waiting for me (which I had to frost because he was scared). He even bought candles for it and put them on in the shape of a heart. It was the first time I had candles on a birthday cake in several years. Then he made me a nice supper of lemon chicken with potatoes and broccoli for supper. All in all, it was a pretty typical day, but nice.

On the seventh I went with Andy to the cities because he had to go to the doctor for his TMJ issues. It was a terrible trip because the roads were so terrible. We saw several people who had driven off the road and two vehicles that had actually flipped. When we got home, I got a call from a place called buyfun. I had two interviews with them and they called to see if I wanted to work for them. I accepted. My title is "product development specialist". It sounds fancy but it's that impressive. I'll basically be helping get new costumes ready for Halloween. The hours are 8-4:30 mon-fri which is really nice. The pay and benefits are not great, but at least it's a full time job and I think it will be fun. And on the plus side, I get 40% off costumes three times a year. I'm training this week and will go full time the week after. I'm going to keep the JH tax job and just work weekends to make a little more money while it's there.

The other day I got a birthday card in the mail from my Grandma. It was nice to get and arrived just in time for my b-day, but someone had sliced both ends of it open. It looked like someone was trying to see if there was any cash inside. She sent a check which was fortunately still in there, but I think if there had been cash, it would have been long gone. Then the same day I got a letter from the post office. It contained a slip that said a package I had sent was lost. There was also a ripped part of the packaging I had sent a book in. It was just enough to contain the send to address and return address. So somehow they ripped the hell out of the packaging and lost the book. I had to send them a description of what was lost for them to look for and had to refund $5o for the book that was lost which I had sold on ebay for Andy and which he won't get reimbursed for. I'm really not pleased with the post office right now.

Ice and swears.

Again I have a post without any pictures. So instead, listen to this song while you read (I don't know how to make this open in a different tab/window, so you'll have to work that out on your own) Merry Xmas

I went to watch my step brother play hockey tonight. I only stayed for one and a half periods, but I had a good time. I have know him for seven years, during which time he's always been in hockey, but tonight was the first time I ever went to a game. I had more fun than I thought, but decided that I'm not a very good spectator for high school sports because I have a foul mouth. I enjoyed spending time learning about hockey. I don't know much about the sport, but I learned that they play on a rink (not a field or court which is what i called it once :/ ) and I learned what the crease is. I also learned about off-sides, penalties, and that they platy periods instead of quarters.

I spent a lot of my time sayings like "Do something neat" and "I'll give you a skittle if you make a goal" but another portion of my time was spent trying to not to swear at the kids playing. I shouted some mean things at the other team and got dirty looks....but I had a nice time.

I'm none too thrilled with the recent change in weather. My car was very unhappy when I tried to start him today. He likes to get even with me for making him do things when it's cold by frosting over on both the outside AND the inside. I really don't appreciate it much.

I'm all set (theoretically) to start preparing taxes and will work by first real hours this week...even though you can't file your taxes until the fifteenth. I've passed all the tests that I needed to, so now I just have to wait for real customers. I work my first day on wednesday...which is also my bday. Not a huge deal since I don't tend to do much in the way of celebration anyway.

THE END.
